Net4kids projects and their employees

Events

We organize events to involve, motivate, but above all inspire our investors, entrepreneurs and their employees to shape their own role. Will you also come by?

Net4kids500 Meeting

Net4kids500 Meeting

On Thursday November 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM we will organize our next Net4kids500 meeting at Valley Amsterdam, exclusively for all Net4kids500 members (& introducees). An afternoon dedicated to connection, inspiration and impactful entrepreneurship.

Valley Tour

We start with an exclusive tour of the sustainable Valley building. We explore the iconic exterior up to the fifth floor via the stairs. Please take into account comfortable footwear, because we walk up five floors. Inside you will hear more about what makes this building special.

Content Program

After the tour we are invited to the tax-legal consultancy firm from our network, Hamelink & van den Tooren, on the sixth floor. After a short welcome speech by Robert Wintgens (Partner at Hamelink & van den Tooren) and Annelieke Brackel (Managing Director Net4kids) we have two inspirational talks for you.

We start with Net4kids500 member Emile van de Klok, who presents his latest social business concept Empactify will present. This innovative platform integrates Employee Engagement and Social Impact, with the aim of more employee involvement and a greater impact on society. And as a Net4kids500 member, you get a unique opportunity to discover how this platform can also help you realize sustainable impact!

As the second speaker, we welcome Ingmar Barendregt. Ingmar is the founder of Element15 and the inventor of the BAR water filtration systems. These innovative systems provide communities in remote regions of Africa with safe drinking water without the need for energy. With his company, he has created a sustainable solution that not only improves the lives of the children in our projects, but also strengthens local economies.

Networking

After both speakers have shared their inspiring vision on how technology and entrepreneurship can contribute to making a positive impact, we can continue the conversation while enjoying a drink and a bite. This is the place to exchange impactful ideas and explore how we can further strengthen each other and Net4kids in our common goal: our next generation a sustainable future. Feel free to bring an introducee to get acquainted with the Net4kids500.

Investors Meet Up 2024

Investors Meet Up 2024

The Investors Meet Up is the networking event especially for (potential) investors of Net4kids. In this inspiring meeting we bring together passionate entrepreneurs, committed donors and local organizations from our network to learn from and inspire each other. At the same time you will enjoy a drink and a snack at a beautiful sponsored location, the Design Thinking Center of our investor Nextview, in Amsterdam.

The speakers

On our stage, three passionate speakers from our network, Nynke Geus-van den Broek (Blyde Benelux), Kim Paardekoper (Haarlem Tea Company) and Alef Meulenberg (Stichting Rhiza) share their experiences and insights about impactful entrepreneurship with Net4kids. They delve deeper into various ways in which companies and local project organizations can jointly bring about tangible change. Everyone can have a positive impact on the world around them in their own way. What suits you and/or your company? When do you make (the most) impact? What is effective?

Of Nynke Geus – van den Broek, co-founder of PR agency and B Corp Blyde Benelux, we have a visionary on stage who is committed to having a positive impact on our world. With her expertise in the field of sustainability and social responsibility, she inspires everyone to make a difference themselves. A great opportunity to listen to the perspectives of an enthusiastic leader who puts his words into action. Net4kids works with Blyde Benelux to help young changemakers, like Dieudonné in Rwanda, realize their ideas for change in their local community.

Kim Paardekoper, co-founder of Haarlem Tea Company, is our second speaker. Haarlem Tea Company includes various tea brands, such as Tastea, Tea Cultures and Frank About Tea. Kim and Bob Paardekoper have taken over the family business together and are on an impactful journey towards making the chain completely sustainable. With the Haarlem Tea Foundation they support projects that contribute to improving the living conditions of tea farmers, plantation employees and their communities. Her story provides insight into how companies can take effective steps towards sustainability and social impact. Net4kids works together with Haarlem Tea Company & Foundation in Sri Lanka to offer children and families of plantation workers and tea farmers a better future.

Finally, the founder of the Rhiza Foundation, Alef Meulenberg, tell his story about how he offers thousands of children, their families, students and entrepreneurs from the townships in South Africa an economic perspective. His passion for social justice and insights into economic empowerment have led to the creation of the Rhiza Foundation, through which he develops self-reliant communities supported by local businesses. Alef elaborates on how businesses and NGOs can strengthen each other and shares his life lessons to tackle today's global challenges. Net4kids has been working with Rhiza in South Africa since 2017 and together we not only invest in training, but also create employment for young people in townships.

Networking

In addition to the stage, there is room to network with like-minded people while enjoying a drink and a snack at a beautiful sponsored location, the Design Thinking Center of our investor Nextview, in Amsterdam.

Because together we can achieve so much further than alone, we cordially invite you to bring someone to our Investors Meet Up. In this way you also inspire a business associate, friend, colleague, family member, and we can strengthen each other to help as many children and young people as possible.

Finally, we will visit the locations where vocational education is given to young people.

Bangalore – Sightseeing (Fri Nov 8)
Thursday evening we fly back to Bangalore, so that we have a whole day on Friday for some sightseeing, buying souvenirs or just doing nothing at all and relaxing in the hotel with a swimming pool. We fly back to Amsterdam on a night flight on the night of Friday to Saturday, where we will arrive early on Saturday morning (November 9).

Round Table Meeting

Round Table Meeting

With this annual Round Table Meeting we bring together entrepreneurs who are thinking about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) but don't know where to start. In a personal setting, we help you and your company to easily undertake corporate social responsibility, in order to enable children all over the world to build a promising life. Questions such as 'how can I make CSR work for my company', 'what can Net4kids mean in this', 'will my organization be relieved' will be discussed.

Impact

Social entrepreneurship is just like commercial entrepreneurship; delivering solutions to customers while creating a revenue model. However, someone who engages in social activities creates added value for society, which Net4kids invariably refers to as 'impact'.

Marcel van der Schaaff, entrepreneur, Net4kids ambassador and initiator of the Round Table Meeting, wants to inspire other entrepreneurs to also create impact. In what way can you contribute to a better world with your company? And what does it contribute to your company? Commercial entrepreneurship and having an impact go hand in hand. We show that there are many possibilities to give substance to your CSR policy.

“The only way we're going to make substantial progress on the challenging problems of our time is for business to drive the solutions.” – Wendy Woods, Boston Consulting Group

Business is leading

What if every company invested 1% of its turnover in 'The Next Generation'? Loek van den Boog, Chairman at General Atlantic and founder of Net4kids, talks about entrepreneurship, philanthropy and how business can play a bigger role. Loek explains why doing good with your company also helps your business. How our business-oriented approach aligns with the CSR goals of organizations and ensures concrete and visible results. For the young people in the projects and for the companies that participate. So: more impact, more involvement, more financial and social returns. The beginning of a better world.

“At Net4kids, we see that companies that work with us and support projects that are a good match for their business, in combination with possible employee involvement through our programs, are more successful in attracting and retaining talent, and customer acquisition and loyalty.” – Loek van den Boog

Investors Meet Up 2023

Investors Meet Up 2023

The Investors Meet Up is a network event especially for Net4kids investors. Be inspired by the stories and practical experiences of other investors and meet like-minded entrepreneurs. At the same time you enjoy a drink and a snack at a beautiful sponsored location, the Design Thinking Center of our investor Nextview, in Amsterdam.

Create engagement. Extremely important if you want to integrate social objectives into your company. But how do you do that? How can you, as a company, mean something to our 'next generation', and involve your employees in this? Or how can I, as an independent entrepreneur, make a difference? This event focuses on the stories and experiences of companies and entrepreneurs from our network.

Marcel Smit, CEO of Energyworx, tells how his personal mission led to a special project that fits the core business of his company. Together with this tech company from the energy sector, we train girls from India for a job in the IT sector. What will it bring him and what will it bring to his employees?

Sophie Snoek, consultant of Been Management Consulting takes the stage and shares the challenges, successes and personal stories of school teacher trainings in South Africa's townships. How important is it for employees that their company promotes these social activities? Moreover, as 'B Corp', Been Management Consulting can tell you how to make sustainability concrete like no other company.

Nextview, our host of the evening, was inspired last year at our Investors Meet Up to use the expertise of employees in addition to years of support for a Net4kids project in Nepal. Which resulted in a very impactful collaboration that they would like to tell you more about.

Because together we can get so much further than alone, we cordially invite you to bring someone with you on February 2nd. This way you also inspire a business relation, friend, colleague or family member, and we can strengthen each other to help as many young people as possible.

March 8, 2022: Investors Meet Up

March 8, 2022: Investors Meet Up

Net4kids, together with companies, helps children who hardly get opportunities based on the vision that social involvement is an integral part of entrepreneurship. Net4kids is therefore convinced that the companies that understand and apply this are more successful.

During our Investors Meet Up we bring the investors of Net4kids together to meet and exchange experiences about social involvement within their company. We will share best practices and success stories of our investors and discuss ideas for the future. We also want to show you that there are many options for involving your employees in the CSR policy. The main goal of this afternoon will be: meet like-minded entrepreneurs and go home with a lot of new ideas and insights on how to develop your organization in the desired direction.

What can you expect?

On the stage: inspiring practical examples. Marlon Brand, Improved Corporate Finance talks about how he and his colleagues help Ghanaian young people on their way to a successful career. Thanks to Google expert Emile van de Klok, these Ghanaian youngsters are being trained to become digital marketers. In addition, two entrepreneurs and networkers pur sang, Rex Vermeulen and Paul Joosten, on stage. They talk about how they mobilize their own network to make an entire village in Tanzania self-reliant.

Next to the stage: every company and every entrepreneur in our network makes an impact. Inspire each other about the ways in which you can do social entrepreneurship, how you involve your employees in your project and how you can strengthen each other to ultimately help many more children.

This meet up was organized for the first time in 2020. Do you want to know more about it and/or register for this second edition on March 8, 2022? Please contact Anne-Marijn: annemarijn.bentum@net4kids.org. Until then?

Starter package CSR workshop

Starter package CSR workshop

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming increasingly important. The government, consumers and social organizations expect companies to take their social responsibility. Do you still have to be convinced that your company cannot grow without internal and external involvement? How do you start with this?

Where do you start as an organization?

This workshop is for entrepreneurs who want to grow and realize that further growth is not possible without internal and external involvement.

  • Social entrepreneurship and social involvement, what can that do for your staff and organization? What can it contribute to turnover, effort, absenteeism and productivity? To what extent does this contribute to business growth?
  • Do you get all vacancies filled? What determines whether a candidate in the current market chooses you? What moves millennials? Why on earth would a good candidate choose your company when there are so many other options?
  • How distinctive is it to the market and your customers when you say that you don't work irresponsibly, so no child labor, no fraud, no exploitation, no environmental damage, are you proud, is that your brand, your identity? Research shows that more than half of consumers believe that brands should actively commit to stimulating positive changes in the world. What about your image / brand value: are you really sufficiently distinctive and meaningful?

The workshop is given by Mario Huibers, Net4kids ambassador who works every day in his own field to make organizations perform better through internal and external involvement.

Aydan is 25 years old and a professional golfer with a mission! At 1.92m and the build of a nightclub guard, it's no surprise that Aydan's sensational drives draw attention as the ball flies 300 meters through the air.
After many victories to his name, his sporting highlight, so far, is obtaining a wildcard for the KLM Open. Aydan is busy storming the top and will offer the golfers on the Net4kids golf day some extra challenge.

Golf Event 2022

On Monday, September 19, 2021 we will organize the seventh edition of the Net4kids Golf Day on BurgGolf Golf resort de Purmer in Purmerend. We cordially invite you to play (again) this year.

Golf and networking

In addition to a great golf program, you can network and participate in a lottery with great prizes. With the income from the flights and lottery, together we ensure that the children in the SSH project in India can go to school, receive healthcare and sufficient opportunities for social development and social integration.

Flights

A flight with four participants costs € 1,590. For this amount you can count on a sporty day on a beautiful golf course, with good company and excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere. A single entry is also possible and costs €450.

Sponsor opportunities

To allow the girls in India to fully benefit from the flights and lottery, we also have a sponsor program for maximum visibility among those present. Do you want to become a sponsor of the Net4kids Business Golf Day? We would like to have the full catering, all prizes for the winners, track flags and give aways financed so that the income goes entirely to the project. Your company logo will appear on all online and offline communication about the Net4kids golf day, and on / around the golf course it is possible to place your own banners.

We would be happy to discuss further information about all sponsorship options with you personally. Please contact Anne-Marijn Bentum.

Until then?

Social entrepreneurship is just like commercial entrepreneurship; delivering solutions to customers and thereby creating a revenue model. However, someone who does business in a social way creates added value for society, which Net4kids invariably refers to as 'impact', and we fully support this.
