Nynke Geus: “drive to mean what”

How do you summarize 1 week in which you have seen the world at its best? Nynke Geus-van den Broek and her husband Marnix Geus joined Net4kids on the Stakeholder trip to India this month. After an impressive week, she shared her experiences online.

“How do you summarize 1 week in which you have seen the world at its best? Eyes that look straight through your soul, a smile in every look. And that despite the unimaginable challenges they face on a daily basis. Last week Net4kids showed us South India. And how. A journey from Chennai to Madurai and from Namakkal to Tirupur. We visited three incredibly special project partners: Rainbow Homes, SSH and SAVE. Different partners who each create their own opportunities for children who otherwise have hardly any options. What an incredibly inspiring people. They break through stigmas, build on the (and our) future and let children be children again, but now with the possibility to dream again.

Deeply impressed by all the people involved who, sometimes at the risk of their own lives, tackle the prevailing problems and break through stigmas to give the children a chance again and thus the families and the rest of the community.

What do I get out of it? Especially strength, a drive to mean something, wanderlust and also confusion. For example, what to do with the fashion industry when you see that the great desire and the road to a better future is a job in one of the textile factories there? One thing is certain: you can make a difference. By really seeing people, connecting, committed and just doing your best.

Net4kids in my eyes? A beautiful organization in which very special people with an enormous drive and passion for the children of this world do everything they can to color the future of children with local partners. A sustainable safety net in which connection, happiness and growth are central. A wonderful personal partner to connect as an organization in a sustainable manner so that you also make a positive contribution from your role, your organization, your team. "Far from your bed show"? Anything but that.

Thank you Anke van den Boog & Loek (founders Net4kids), what a perseverance to do this. We deeply admire your social entrepreneurship and your loving and at the same time businesslike approach. Thank you Sandra Kooijman and Marijke Hulskamp for the fantastic organization and the great company, the same goes for Marja Den Boer and Marcel van de Schaaff. What experiences we have had together. ”

What sweet words. Big thanks to you Nynke for sharing the world with us through your eyes.
