Anne-Marijn Bentum exchanges retail for NGO

After 13 years, Anne-Marijn Bentum has exchanged the world of retail for child aid organization Net4kids, which focuses on connecting companies with effective tailor-made child aid projects. As of September she started in her role as communication and organization employee at the non-profit.

Based on the belief that boys and girls around the world are the next generation, Net4kids is committed to a better future for children in Africa and Asia. It does this by connecting companies in the Netherlands with appropriate, concrete child aid projects.

From Fashion to Funding

Anne-Marijn has worked for more than ten years in the field of purchasing and export in the retail industry. Here she worked mainly at major clothing brands such as G-Star and Suitsupply. “After years of working in the clothing industry with pleasure, I recently discovered that I was missing social involvement. I was looking for more inspiration in my work and the feeling that I could contribute something valuable. In Net4kids I have found a unique organization that works enthusiastically on a better life for children in developing countries who often do not have access to medical care, healthy food, safe shelter or education. The way in which Net4kids is committed to these children through involvement from the business community touches me. It is precisely because of the active social role of the business community that I think we can make a difference, ”says Anne-Marijn.

Children are the future

Based on the belief that children are our future, Net4kids offers these children future prospects through education. By providing them with thorough knowledge, these children can develop, while they have a healthy life and safe shelter. In turn, they build a good future and at the same time take care of their families. This is partly motivated by the fact that, in addition to the personal development of these children, Net4kids, in collaboration with the local projects, also focuses on the home situation of the child. This creates a 'next generation' that can use its talent to build its own community. Anke van den Boog, co-founder of Net4kids: “We are very pleased that Anne-Marijn will join our team. With her knowledge and skills in the field of communication and her love for language and organization, she offers great added value for Net4kids. With the celebration of our 15th anniversary this year, it is also time for a new dot on the horizon. The arrival of Anne-Marijn contributes to our ambitions to create even more beautiful things with Net4kids in the coming years. ”
