Rwanda: Empowerment Hub
The Empowerment Hub, founded by local hero Dieudonné Gakire in his home village of Dusego, aims to improve the lives of the village community through education programs, personal development and literacy. The project provides education, ICT training and creates jobs, contributing to a knowledge-based economy and more opportunities for the next generation.
A place where local youth come together and actively participate in activities.
Three pillars are central:
* Personal Development: training and collaborative initiatives to achieve personal and shared goals.
* Literacy: We promote reading and learning through the establishment of a community library.
* Tourism and Sustainability: We develop tourism activities and accommodation to generate income for sustainable growth.
We develop social business activities, such as a hostel (guesthouse) in Dusego and a souvenir shop in Kigali, which create a cash flow to cover running costs in the future.
What does the future hold?
In 2024, the construction of the hub will be completed and the educational programs will be started. In the coming years, we will focus on basic ICT training, developing the infrastructure by installing electricity supplies, internet connections and playgrounds. In addition, we want to offer entrepreneurial training for women and young people in the hub.
How we contribute to this project
Net4kids, together with investors such as PR agency Blyde, guides the young, driven Dieudonné in setting up a hands-on professional non-profit organization. We use our 20 years of experience by helping with management and reporting skills, so that the activities can be better organized and developed and the impact can be better measured. With the nearby school in Dusego with 1560 children and a clear growth plan for the future, we can reach many families. We expect that the reach of the Hub will only increase in the coming years.
