SEEP Advisory Board
Making a difference together for young people in Nepal
The SEEP Advisory Board is a group of committed entrepreneurs and professionals who invest together in the Skills for Employment & Entrepreneurship Project (SEEP) in Kathmandu, Nepal. By combining our expertise, networks, and financial contributions, we create sustainable opportunities for young people in Nepal to find meaningful employment or start their own businesses.
In Nepal, a new generation is eager to shape its future. Nearly 40% of the population is under the age of 25, yet most young people grow up in poverty with limited prospects. Many leave school without a clear path to employment or financial independence. A lack of practical skills and limited opportunities in the local job market force many to accept low-paid, insecure work, often abroad. A sustainable solution is urgently needed. That is why Net4kids, with the support of the SEEP Advisory Board, is launching a new initiative that equips young people in Nepal with practical skills, self-confidence, and entrepreneurial capabilities in sectors where there is real demand in the local labour market. This enables them to build sustainable livelihoods in their own country and shape their own future.
What is the SEEP Advisory Board?
The SEEP Advisory Board is a community of engaged investors who are committed to creating opportunities for young people in Nepal. Through this collaborative approach to philanthropy—also known as a giving circle—members combine their financial contributions, expertise, and networks to support one specific project while remaining closely involved in its progress and impact. Members:
-
invest together in a multi-year approach
-
contribute to the strategy and future development of the project
-
connect with one another in an inspiring community of entrepreneurs and changemakers
-
follow the project's progress and impact up close
-
build a personal relationship with the project and its local partner
-
have the opportunity to visit the project and experience its impact firsthand
“What appeals to us about SEEP is that it goes beyond training alone. Young people are supported in finding employment or starting their own businesses. It is this strong connection to the local labour market that makes the project both sustainable and scalable. At the same time, local partner CWCN is actively building a model that will become increasingly self-reliant and less dependent on international funding over time.”
Rosalie Urselmann - Co-founder of the SEEP Advisory Board
The project
Through the SEEP Advisory Board, we jointly invest in the Skills for Employment & Entrepreneurship Project (SEEP), developed and implemented by Net4kids in partnership with the local organisation Child Watabaran Centre Nepal (CWCN). SEEP supports young people aged 15 to 25 in the Kathmandu Valley and rural communities in the Bagmati and Koshi provinces, with a special focus on young people from vulnerable families, ethnic minorities, school leavers, and returning migrant workers.
The goal is to provide young people with opportunities for decent work and a sustainable future within their own communities. Through initiatives such as the Incubator Hub in Kathmandu, participants receive vocational training, develop entrepreneurial and soft skills, and gain a fair and realistic pathway into the labour market. From the outset, the project is also designed with long-term sustainability in mind. It contributes to the creation of jobs and entrepreneurship while building a model that will become increasingly self-sustaining and less dependent on external funding over time.
