Dolores Leeuwin with Net4kids to Kenya

To really monitor our projects it is important to occasionally travel to our partners. A visit to the Watoto Wema Center in Nairobi, Kenya is planned for September. Watoto Wema offers underprivileged children a sustainable living and learning environment to enable them to receive an education and to make a positive contribution to society.

Our colleagues Sandra and Thomas and our loyal pro-bono photographer Hugo Lingeman will visit this center and see for themselves how the children are doing.

Dolores Leeuwin and Anke van den BoogAnd none other than presenter Dolores Leeuwin (known from programs such as Het Klokhuis, Knoop in je handkerchief and Sinterklaas journaal) and filmmaker Niels Ruitenbeek accompany them on this special journey. Dolores and Niels will make a documentary on location about the lives of the children they visit. With this they want to show the viewer of Net4kids in word and deed. The working method and mission are the same for all Net4kids projects: the child is central. Net4kids believes in strong, motivated children who grab opportunities. Self-reliance is the goal.

Impact Visible

This trip is an excellent opportunity for Net4kids to show our investors the impact of their investment on the children, families and communities. Our main priority is to provide companies with full transparency so that they can immediately see what happens to their money and effort. In addition to the semi-annual project reports that we send to investors, these monitoring strips are also very important to keep well informed about our projects. It gives us the opportunity to show you the positive impact of the concrete child aid we can offer with your investment. The health of the children is examined, the living situation, the presence of school supplies (such as books) and the lessons that are followed.

Our colleague Sandra is responsible for the projects within Net4kids and will use her years of accumulated knowledge to carefully carry out the assessment and monitoring. This will be a special trip together with Dolores and Niels, who use their expertise to report on the stories of the children and map out Net4kids' mission.
