Educational and inspiring

The purpose of this trip is to provide an educational and inspiring experience and to show how Net4kids offers underprivileged children a more promising future in India. Seeing is (even more) believing. We offer you the unique opportunity to see with your own eyes where our investments are going. Be inspired by the insights of local entrepreneurs in our projects, the wisdom of the inquisitive kids, and come back with a new drive, a strength and a mindset to translate the insights gained into action. And feel free to bring a colleague, friend or family member and experience this unique 'once-in-a-lifetime' trip together.

Local monitoring

Thanks to the trip participants, Net4kids gives us the opportunity to monitor and visualize our projects locally, so that we can create the greatest possible impact with low organizational costs.

The global program

Bangalore – Rainbow Homes & Planet Hope (Thurs Oct 31 – Sat Nov 2)
We start our journey in Bangalore. We fly here directly from Amsterdam (day flight). Bangalore is called the 'Silicon Valley' of India, and many international (IT) companies are based here. We will stay here for two days and visit the Planet Hope projects, aimed at vocational education for vulnerable girls, and the Rainbow Homes, the proven shelter program of Rainbow Foundation India. Not only do we take a look at the project locations, but we also visit the former living environment of the girls on the streets and in the quarries around Bangalore.

Madurai – Sightseeing (Saturday evening 2 – Sun 3 Nov)
We travel on to Madurai, the cultural capital of the Tamil Nadu region. We will stay in the beautiful Heritage Madurai. Our local project partner is happy to show us the cultural side of their country. Among other things, the colorful Sri Meenakshi Temple is on the program.

Namakkal – Society for Serving Humanity (SSH) (Mon 4 and Tue 5 Nov)
Today we travel to Namakkal in the morning. After lunch with the staff, we visit a few villages where children from the Foster a Child program of SSH live. The next day we will join a meeting of a women's group and the children show us the after-school program in their village.

“How do you summarize 1 week in which you have seen the world at its best? Eyes that look right through your soul, a smile in every glance… ”

Nynke Geus – van den Broek, participant Stakeholder trip India 2017

Tirupur – Social Awareness and Voluntary Education (SAVE) (Wed 6 and Thu 7 Nov)
The next day we leave for Tirupur, to our local partner SAVE. The staff will tell us in detail about their activities to raise awareness and prevent child labor in the region. Then we will visit a number of Bridge Schools and we can take a look at a number of children's homes. Day 2 we visit textile factories so that we see the effect of SAVE's awareness campaigns and learn how they contribute to improving the labor situation in the region. Finally, we will visit the locations where vocational education is given to young people.

Bangalore – Sightseeing (Fri Nov 8)
Thursday evening we fly back to Bangalore, so that we have a whole day on Friday for some sightseeing, buying souvenirs or just doing nothing at all and relaxing in the hotel with a swimming pool. We fly back to Amsterdam on a night flight on the night of Friday to Saturday, where we will arrive early on Saturday morning (November 9).
